Easter (part 1)

I have gotten behind on blogging lately, so I am going to try and get caught up soon. The latest big event was Easter and we had a wonderful weekend with family and celebrating our risen Savior! Kim came into town from South Carolina and stayed at our house for a couple nights before we headed to Owensville. We went to a Casting Crowns concert and had a great time. The Linhardt Family got together on Saturday and of course had some BBQ. The kids continued their tradition of making cupcakes with Nana and they had an egg hunt and all came out of it pretty good with some money and candy. It was a fabulous day!!

Awana Grand Prix

It is that time of year...starting with a block of wood, cutting your design, sanding, painting, more sanding, polishing your axles, putting graphite on your wheels, and doing all you can to make your car fast! Yes, it is Awana Grand Prix time!! Matt and Brandon have experience doing this, but Anna was able to get in on the action this year, being a first year Cubbie. She wanted her car to look like a princess slipper, Brandon designed his to be like Racer X, and Matt chose to do a Mizzou car. A lot of time goes into getting these cars ready, and I don't know who has more fun, Daddy or the kids. The results of all their hard work paid off. They all had a great looking car and they were all pretty fast too. Anna's Silver Slipper won first place in Cubbies and 2nd place overall. Brandon's Silver Racer X took 2nd place in Sparks and Matt's Tiger 1 won 2nd in the open division. A fun night was had by all!! I think Brandon has already thought about what he will do next year. Until then....

Our Valentine's Day

Some highlights of our Valentine's Day: The kids both had Valentine parties at school, and they each made a special box to hold their valentines from their friends. Matt brought me some red tulips and fixed us some steaks (even they were heart shaped). We had a wonderful weekend together as a family. We have Awana on Sunday nights at church so we attended that and then headed to the Renaud Center for Family Night. The kids love to go swimming there and had the best time. Thankfully, it is scheduled when the kids are off of school for President's Day.

100 Days

Brandon had his 100th day of school yesterday, and the kindergarteners were to do a 100 day project to celebrate. After a few different starts and stops on several ideas, he ultimately decided to use his Magnext to create a rocket. After all, they are the Rock Creek Rockets!! All of the kids projects were put on display in the
"100 Day Museum" so parents could come and check them all out.

Naked Basketball

Anna will be so happy to see this when she gets older. I had to take a picture of her tonight as I was laughing so hard. She was getting ready to take a bath and I was multitasking with doing the Lite Brite with Brandon. She was supposed to be taking her clothes off and getting ready to get in the tub and instead I found her downstairs passing the basketball with Daddy. She is showing her dedication to the sport early, ha ha!! This was definitely one of those moments I had to capture.

Snow Days

It has been so very cold here lately and we did get some snow! The kids had a couple snow days from school so we took advantage of not going anywhere and staying home out of the cold. We did a little baking and skating and had lots of fun!

Bringing In The New Year

For New Years Eve, we had our 3rd annual fondue/friends party at the house. We brought in the New Year with great friends and lots of good food. The girls did a lot of talking, of course, while the guys played some ping-pong. The kids played upstairs and downstairs and nothing was destroyed! The smell of fried food from the oil in the fondue pots is slowly diminishing too. It was a great night! May 2010 bring good health, happiness and many blessings!!
